BASEN WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT COOPERATIVE SOCIETY

AROUSE is working in different villages of Basen panchayat in Kersai block since last 12 years. People are more organized and aware of different issues prevailing in the area. The gram sabha in Basen and Chauratanr and Karangaguri are very active. Through gram sabha people have applied for land documents individual as well as community.

They are successful in obtaining these documents. The Public Distribution System is regularized and dealers are more honest, fair and just. Jungle Bachao Committee is very active and is able to protect the forest coming under their jurisdiction. Women are more active and united; their Self-Help Groups are confident to take up business activities. As a result, they decided to form a women’s cooperative. Eventually, they have formed a cooperative namely, Basen Women’s Development Cooperative Society Limited.

They have submitted all the required documents, the authorities from the district have interacted with the group and it was registered. Some members of the cooperative have already started poultry, and piggery farm. They need to work collectively.
